Doctor Horse horse shampoos are first and foremost the vegan Clean Horse line, including versions matched to coat colour. When a bath is out of the question, there is a dry shampoo that needs no rinsing. In summer a shampoo that masks the horse's odour comes in handy, and for intimate hygiene there is Mr & Mrs Horse foam.
A horse shampoo for regular washing: Clean Horse
Clean Horse shampoo removes mud, dust and grass stains and leaves no residue behind. It consists of 90% ingredients of natural origin, and glycerine and panthenol moisturise the skin and coat while you wash. The shampoo brings out the natural colour of the coat, suits every coat colour and is suitable for regular use. It can be used on the coat, mane and tail, and even on the hooves. Even so, the whole horse should not be bathed with shampoo more often than once every 2 weeks. Between baths, local dirty patches can be cleaned, for example before training or a competition.
Shampoo for grey horses and versions for other coat colours
The coat colour versions have a thick formula with glycerine and panthenol, plus pigments matched to the colour of the coat. Shampoo for grey horses helps neutralise yellow tones and brings out the white of the coat. The other versions, for black, bay and chestnut horses, bring out depth of colour and give the coat a shine. Each version has a different scent: hyacinth for greys, blackcurrant for blacks, cherry for bays and lilac in bloom for chestnuts. The shampoos contain no silicones and are made in Poland.
Dry shampoo for horses with no rinsing
No-rinse dry shampoo is the solution for days when there is no access to water or it is too cold for a bath. It is also handy before competitions, at camps and after transport. Spray the dirty area, then after about 2 minutes wipe the dirt off with a clean towel, a microfibre cloth or a brush. Nothing needs to be rinsed off. At the same time, chamomile extract soothes irritated skin. The product must not get into the eyes or onto mucous membranes. If the horse's skin is prone to allergies, the product is first tried on a small patch of the coat.
Odour-masking shampoo and intimate hygiene foam
Too Fresh for Flies shampoo is for washing the coat, and as it does so its blend of essential oils masks the horse's natural odour, so the horse gets moments of peace in the field. It is a shampoo for summer, for before training outdoors and before competitions. When washing, keep it away from the eyes and mucous membranes, and before first use carry out a patch test on a small area of skin.
Mr & Mrs Horse is an intimate hygiene foam for mares, stallions and geldings. The foam removes dust, sweat and flaking skin from around the udder, sheath, anus, vulva and prepuce. It is applied to dampened skin, gently massaged in and rinsed off, while the mint oil gives a feeling of coolness and freshness. Before first use, a patch test on a small area of skin is necessary. For mares in foal, consulting a vet beforehand is recommended.
