Eucalyptus Chill - Rich multivitamin mineral lick with essential oils of mint and eucalyptus 3kg
Mineral licks and chews for horses are useful both in the stable and in the paddock, although they play different roles. A lick tops up the horse's daily diet with minerals, while a birch chew gives it something to do.
Natural birch chews for horses
Each chew is a birch log with intact bark and a topping, 6 to 10 cm in diameter and about 30 cm long, with an eco-friendly jute string. Once the topping has been eaten, the horse gnaws at the bark for a long time, so it has something to do in the stable and gets less bored. And boredom can be the cause of stable vices such as weaving or kicking the door. Slowly gnawing at the bark also satisfies the natural need to chew and can take the place of chewing the bars or boards of the stable.
The variants differ in their topping. The choice includes mint, chamomile, marigold, coconut flakes, lavender with jasmine and nettle, as well as the Colorful and Balanced Flowers flower blends. In most variants the topping is fixed to the bark with isomalt. This is a sweetener developed with diabetics in mind that does not trigger a sudden release of insulin, which is why it is safe for horses with ulcers and does not cause hyperactivity or drowsiness.
The log is hung in the stable so that the horse can reach it freely. Hung between two stables, it keeps two horses busy at once. The horse is given one chew at a time, and once the bark has been gnawed off, the log is replaced with a new one. The horse should have access to fresh water at all times. The product pages of most chews state that pregnant and lactating mares should be given them only after consulting a vet. The chews contain no doping substances.
Mineral licks for horses, 750 g
The 750 g licks contain sodium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus, vitamins A, D3 and E and trace elements. They are sold with a string, so they can be hung in the stable or in the paddock where the horse has constant access to them. The horse must not go short of fresh water either. Each lick has its own added ingredient and purpose.
Chamomile Comfort and Lavender Chill were developed with sensitive and stressed horses in mind. Vanilla Relax is for horses that are stressed or need to unwind after training. Rose Immunity, with rosehips, is intended for horses that need support for their immunity and for recovery after exertion, and Apple Joy for those that need support for immunity and vitality. The Mint Breath lick, with mint and eucalyptus essential oils, is the choice for horses that need support for the respiratory system. None of the 750 g licks contain sugar in any form or cereals.
Large 3 kg licks
The 3 kg licks are a supplement to the daily diet that the horse should have constant access to. They differ in composition. Super Magnesium has a raised magnesium content, which supports muscle function and the nervous system. The selenium lick is based on Mediterranean salt and enriched with selenium. Another lick contains live Levucell yeast, which supports the digestive system, and the Strong Hooves lick contains biotin and zinc, with hooves, coat and skin in mind.
Vitamin Bomb is a complex of minerals, trace elements and vitamins. Eucalyptus Chill combines minerals and vitamins with mint and eucalyptus oils, which support the horse's respiratory comfort. For the warmer months there is the Too Fresh for Flies lick, enriched with garlic-based essential oils.
