How to wash a horse with Clean Horse shampoo
Start by wetting the horse's coat and long hair with water. Then apply the shampoo directly to the skin, coat and mane and work it in with your hand, a sponge or a brush until it lathers. Rub more firmly where the dirt is heaviest. After washing, rinse thoroughly with water so that no product residue is left.
After bathing, follow with the Mane & Tail spray, which makes combing easier and protects the hair from tangling.
Ingredients and how the shampoo works on a horse's coat
Glycerine moisturises the skin and coat during washing and prevents them from drying out. Panthenol (provitamin B5) supports the regeneration of the epidermis and smooths the hair, so that after the bath the coat is soft and shiny. The blend of mild detergents cleans effectively but does not damage the skin's natural protective barrier.
The shampoo leaves no residue on the coat and brings out its natural colour. It performs equally well whatever the horse's coat colour. The whole formula is vegan and 90% of the ingredients are of natural origin.

The shampoo is suitable for competition, leisure and breeding horses. Clean Horse is intended for horses of every coat colour. The formula is mild enough for regular use without any risk of irritating or drying out the skin. It copes well with heavy dirt (mud, grass stains) and with spot-cleaning before training or a competition.

How often can a horse be washed with shampoo?
The shampoo is mild enough to be used at every bath. The glycerine and panthenol in the formula moisturise the skin during washing, so regular use does not lead to drying out. Even so, bathing whole horses with shampoo more often than once every 2 weeks is not recommended.
How does it differ from Dry Shampoo?
Clean Horse is a shampoo that is rinsed off with water. It works best with a thorough wash. Dry Shampoo does not need rinsing and is ideal in winter or when there is no access to water.
