Coconut horse chew
- Birch trunk with coconut sprinkles is a healthy and safe activity for horses spending time in the stall. Helps prevent boredom and birth control, while providing natural variety in the diet.
The Coconut natural birch chew is a natural birch log with the bark left on, topped with coconut flakes. It is a safe stable toy that keeps a horse occupied for a long time, reduces boredom and satisfies the natural need to chew.
Why a horse needs a chew in the stable
Horses that spend a lot of time in a stable need something to do. Boredom can be the cause of stable vices such as weaving, box-walking or kicking at the door. A natural birch log provides safe, long-lasting occupation, reduces boredom and the tension that comes with long periods spent stabled, and helps limit the development of stable vices. Slowly gnawing at the bark satisfies the natural need to chew.
The Coconut topping
The coconut flake topping gives the log its characteristic scent and adds variety to chewing. A coconut topping is sometimes associated with support for the condition of the coat and hooves. Coconut flakes supply readily available energy, minerals such as potassium, magnesium and phosphorus, and fibre. The log is carefully selected and dried, and sharp edges are smoothed off for safety. Made in Poland.

How to offer it
The log is best hung on the stable bars so that the horse has free access to it, with a constant supply of fresh water. Hung between two stalls, it keeps two horses occupied at once. It is recommended to offer no more than one chew at a time. The log should be replaced once the bark has been gnawed off or when the horse loses interest.
Important
Do not use in pregnant or lactating mares without consulting a vet.
