LiK is a vegan mousse for putting plaits and button plaits into horses' manes. It contains natural acacia resin, which binds the strands of hair together and stops them slipping out of your fingers as you plait. It adds shine, does not stick and leaves no residue.

How to plait with LiK mousse

Press the pump and squeeze a small amount of mousse onto your hand. Spread it over the section of mane you want to plait. The mousse binds the strands together straight away, so the hair stops sliding and slipping out of your fingers, which speeds plaiting up considerably.

Plait the sections, then roll them into button plaits, or prepare lattice plaits in the usual way. LiK gives you time to work, because it does not set immediately, so you can adjust the plaits without rushing. When you have finished, secure the style with a silicone band and leave it to dry. Store the product in a grooming box or tack box, away from sunlight.

Acacia resin: a natural ingredient for styling the mane

Acacia resin is a natural polymer that forms a flexible film on the hair. Unlike synthetic gels it does not make the strands stiff or sticky, but holds them together gently. That keeps the plaits looking natural, and the mane keeps its gloss.

Once the plaits are taken out, all you need to do is brush the mane through. The resin leaves no white residue and no sticky layer on the hair.

When to use the plaiting mousse

LiK is at its best before a competition, when the plaits have to hold all day. The mousse also helps with horses that have a fine or slippery mane, where plaiting without help is difficult. If a plaited mane has to look neat throughout a day of competition, LiK will keep it in order.

Which horses it suits

The mousse is intended for all types of mane. You will appreciate it especially with horses whose hair is fine, slippery or freshly washed and will not stay put in plaits. The formula is gentle on the skin.

Frequently asked questions

Does LiK mousse glue the hair together?

No. LiK binds the strands and makes plaiting easier, but it does not glue them stiff. The plaits look natural and have shine.

How long do plaits put in with the mousse hold?

Applied properly and secured with silicone bands, the plaits hold throughout a day of competition.

Is acacia resin safe for the horse?

Yes. Acacia resin is a natural plant ingredient. The formula is gentle on the skin and washes out easily with water once the plaits are taken out.

Can the mousse be used on a wet mane?

The best results come from applying it to a dry mane. On wet hair the mousse can be diluted and hold the plaits less well.
