Silicone elastics for braiding braids and plugs - Brown
- Flexible silicone rubber bands for braiding braids and plugs. Strong, durable and aesthetically pleasing.
Brown silicone plaiting bands for plaits and button plaits, colour-matched to chestnut manes. Elastic and strong, yet gentle enough not to tug or break the hair. 500 bands per pack.
How to make button plaits with silicone bands
Divide the mane into even sections, plait each one and roll the plait into a button. Wrap the band twice or three times around the base so the plait is held securely. The silicone holds firmly but does not cut into the hair.
After undoing the plaits, gently slide the band off the end of the plait. Bands in good condition can be used again. Replace any that are stretched or split.
Brown bands: the perfect match for chestnut manes
The brown bands were created with chestnut horses in mind. The shade of brown blends into the natural colour of a chestnut's mane, so the plaits look neat and tidy.
On a chestnut mane, black bands can stand out against the reddish hair. The brown version blends better into the natural shade of the mane and gives a more natural result. Bay manes go best with black bands.
Plaits that hold for competitions and everyday work
Silicone bands hold button plaits securely all day. They are equally suited to competitions, breed inspections and everyday training. The material stands up to sweat and moisture, so the bands do not slip off the plaits even after hard work.
How many bands one plaiting session takes
A standard mane takes between 15 and 40 bands, depending on how thick and how long the hair is. A pack of 500 is a supply for many plaiting sessions, and even with regular competing it will last a whole season.
Frequently asked questions
Which coat colours do the brown bands suit?
The brown bands are matched to chestnut horses. The shade of brown blends into the natural colour of a chestnut's mane, so the plaits look neat. For bay and black manes, black bands are the better choice.
How do the brown bands differ from the black ones?
Only in colour. The material, the size and the stretch are identical. The difference lies in which coat colour they match: brown for chestnuts, black for bays and blacks.
Can silicone bands be used more than once?
Yes. After you undo the plaits, a band in good condition can be used again: simply slide it off the end of the plait. Replace any that are stretched or split so the plait holds more securely.
